Go for lunch

There’s some great lunch places right on the doorstep of Launch 22: grab a Vietnamese banh mi at Sen Viet or some dim sum from Canton Element. There’s no reason for vegans to feel left out because you also have Itadaki Zen, which claims to be Europe’s first organic vegan Japanese restaurant.

Take a break

Stroll round the corner to Fiumano Clase, a welcoming modern art gallery where there is always something new to see. If it’s a nice day, mosey on over to the Calthorpe Community Garden. Run by volunteers, this is divided into different zones, with hidden grottos and mosaic pathways. There’s often activities on and plants and secondhand books for sale.

Let’s get physical

Disconnect your brain and relax your muscles with a yoga class at Rebel Studio. Always wanted to learn to dance? Drop into a jive or musical theatre taster session run by City Academy (they also have courses on singing and stand-up comedy). Or if you’re feeling social, try a dance class at Salsa Roasada, the longest running LGBT salsa class in London.

After work entertainment

Less than 15 minutes walk away, you have Sadler’s Wells Theatre which has an international reputation for dance. If you would rather light-hearted than light-footed entertainment, make a space in your diary for Jester Jesters, a comedy night on every Monday.

If you fancy a quiet drink instead, opt for the The Queen’s Head, a Victorian pub with a good selection, or The Raketeer, a classily understated cocktail bar.
